What is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy?
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is an established medical treatment in which a patient breathes 100% medical-grade oxygen inside an enclosed chamber pressurized to greater than normal atmospheric pressure (typically 2.0 to 2.4 ATA). This increases blood plasma oxygen saturation up to 15-fold, delivering oxygen to compromised tissues.
- Promotes microvascular capillary growth (angiogenesis)
- Stimulates fibroblast proliferation and collagen synthesis
- Enhances leukocyte killing against hypoxic and anaerobic infections
- Reduces tissue edema while preserving cellular perfusion
