Chronic Refractory Osteomyelitis (Bone Infection)

Managing a deep, persistent bone infection that has not responded adequately to antibiotics or surgery? HBOT provides adjunctive support.

How It Works

Bone infections often develop within avascular, hypoxic bone tissue where antibiotics struggle to reach effective concentrations. HBOT elevates oxygen tension in infected bone, creating an environment that inhibits anaerobic bacteria, enhances leukocyte bactericidal activity, and works synergistically with systemic antibiotics.

What to Expect

Patients attend daily 90-minute sessions. Typical treatment protocols range from 20 to 40 sessions, conducted in close coordination with your infectious disease physician or orthopedic surgeon.

The Results

HBOT works synergistically with systemic antibiotics and surgical debridement by restoring tissue oxygenation, enhancing leukocyte bactericidal activity, and supporting new bone formation. Clinical studies show favorable infection resolution rates when combined with standard therapy.
