Compromised Skin Grafts & Flaps
Concerned that a recent skin graft or surgical flap is showing signs of poor blood supply? Prompt hyperbaric therapy can provide critical oxygen support.
How It Works
When a surgical graft or flap experiences marginal perfusion, tissues can become hypoxic. By breathing pure oxygen under pressure, plasma carries high oxygen concentrations directly to threatened tissues, supporting cellular viability while stimulating new capillary growth (neovascularization).
What to Expect
You'll visit daily for 90 to 120-minute sessions. Depending on clinical response, a course typically ranges from 10 to 30 sessions until tissue integration is stabilized.
The Results
HBOT provides oxygen directly to threatened microvasculature, supporting graft viability, stimulating neovascularization, and working to preserve surgical reconstruction.
